Two people trace a route across a world map spread over a studio table.
South Asian cinema. Beyond borders.

Building pathways
for your film
to reach the world.

What comes after the cut can be as important as the cut itself. Festivals, markets, buyers, audiences — the route is different for every film.

A future where South Asian stories are discovered, celebrated, and sustained across the world -
by design, not by chance.

We guide independent films towards the right festivals, markets and audiences through pathway intelligence and the judgment of experienced industry practitioners.

Elsewhere Films exists to ensure independent films don’t end with completion or at the festival premiere.

Some strong films
travel the world.
Others, just as good,
disappear after their
first screening.

Why?

It could be the wrong premiere, no one championing it in the right rooms, no reason for the press to take notice, or simply no plan for what comes after the first festival.

Unfortunately, the biggest price is paid by films with the least room for error — a first film, tight budgets and no banner behind it.

An entire ecosystem exists to help films get made. But what about help for finished films to find their way into the world?

Elsewhere was built for that gap — drawing on hundreds of film journeys and the experience of people who have spent their careers opening the doors that matter.

Stories taking shape.

Nearing Completion

The locked cut is in sight. This is the moment to make the decisions that shape what comes next — premiere strategy, eligibility, timing and the right route for the film.

Two ways to work,
shaped around the film.

Pathway Partnership

You have made the film. We help work out what comes next — whether that means an international festival premiere and a wider journey beyond it, or a more direct route to platforms and distributors at home.

This is how most filmmakers work with us: the engagement is shaped around the film, from a single scheduling brief to a full pathway plan.

For some films, the relationship starts earlier, at the script stage.

We co-produce, working through development, international positioning, and the film’s path into the world.
