Perspectives on the journey.

The After Cut.

The applause ends. The business begins.

Seen. Sold. Sustained.

An analysis of the business of South Asian independent cinema with the festival gatekeepers, sales agents, distributors, producers, and filmmakers who decide.

Most conversations in cinema are about making the film. At The After Cut we engage in conversations rarely discussed and usually learned too late - festivals, markets, sales, distribution, audience. The decisions made at this stage shape which films travel and which disappear after their first screening.

Each episode is a conversation with someone who has spent their career in that world, about what worked, what didn't, and what they'd want a younger filmmaker to know. You'll find it on YouTube and on audio platforms.
